Twisted Lily: niche fragrance retail

Tuesday 25 March 2014

Stores that sell hard-to-find perfumes and offer a personalised experience are an important retail category in New York, with Brooklyn in particular emerging as a key area for smaller fragrance stores looking to cater to its artistic residents who care about how fragrances are made and where they come from.

Owners Eric Weiser and Stamatis Birsimijoglou opened Twisted Lily's Boreum Hill store in Brooklyn after running a fragrance e-tailer, Parfum1.com. The store sells hard-to-find, niche fragrances such as Atelier de Geste, Maria Candida Gentile and Ramon Monegal, along with locally-made Brooklyn brands such as DS & Durga, CB I hate Perfume and Joya.
