JIA Inc. has launched a new collection of bowls and chopsticks designed by four studios at this year's Ambiente, which runs until today in Frankfurt. The brand wanted each one of the studios to add their own view and cultural background into this fundamental dining utensil for Chinese, Japanese and Korean people.

Up-and-coming Korean designer Seung Yong Song designed a stoneware bowl with a bamboo lid and chopsticks: once lifted, the lid reveals the steam from food, bringing back fond memories of family gatherings.

Fudo by Masayuki Kurokawa comprises a bone china bowl and a pair of chopsticks made of ebony, which represent wind and soil.

Edward Kilduff used smoky glass, stainless steel, acrylic and silicone to create a combination called Looking Glass while Neri & Hu paired glass with brass to create a bowl that is a reinterpretation of the royal seal found on the bottom of chinaware made exclusively for emperors.
