This October will see the launch of Berlin's newest furniture fair, Qubique, which will be held in a decommisioned airport, and promises to take a "holistic approach" to the tradefair experience.

Matthias Schmid, CEO of event organiser AG, says of the approach: "First of all, we see the event as an overall concept, as an atmosphere in which visitors can become immersed even before entering the airport, and one which can be felt throughout the entire show."

Ulrich Weingärtner, Director of Architecture and Events at AG, explains that the environment, Berlin's decommisioned Tempelhof airport, will prove integral to the atmosphere: "We are making a conscious effort to be more involved in the common framework, unlike other trade shows, and to create a homogeneous overall mood through lighting, sound, catering and entertainment."

The event will run 26-29 October 2011.
